coolest cutest camera ever

I love love love my new camera. My history with cameras is a looonnngggg one. I have dropped them. I have lost them. My last one was stolen, along with my whole purse (wallet & all). Moving on - when it came time to make a decision on a new replacement camera I didn't know if I should stick with the small digital jobs or go fancy schmancy and get a BIG girl camera with big lenses etc. After researching and being aware of my own current camera needs, I decided to go somewhere in between. I realized as much as I love to play photographer maybe now (with an under 2yr old in tow) isn't the time for the big girl camera. Plus, I do love being able to just throw my camera in my diaper bag (yes, I am still lugging one of those around). My first stop in my quest for the perfect camera began at Walmart. Not that I was planning on buying there (not that there is anything wrong with buying a camera at Walmart) but just so I could actually get my hands on a few and check out what is out there these days. When a stumbled across the best little hybrid between the throw it in your diaper bag dig and a big girl camera with a great zoom lens. I loved this camera and I loved the price. It was right in between the big ticket cameras and the starter digital prices. Went home happy at least knowing what I wanted to replace said stolen camera with. This was doubling as my mother's day gift. Which for some reason seems to be a pattern. Anywho, jumped online when I got home to read reviews about my new dream camera that I had yet to order. Glowing is what I found. Then I went to amazon.com and found that my camera comes in PINK - what could be better! Ordered it and waited impatiently for it to arrive. (PS- I had big exciting things coming up in which to photograph, Gabby's graduation, our NC vacation and I had volunteered to be the photographer for VBS with no camera ~ HELLO?). When it came it was love at first sight. I couldn't stop playing with it (that's what she said ~ sorry I couldn't help myself). I have a confession I have yet to read the manual that currently resides on my laptop, someday I will get to it. But that just shows how user friendly it is. It is much like the other Powershots out there just pumped up.

Why blog about my camera? Well, believe it or not people comment/ask about my camera all the time (for real- from the deck hand on a dolphin cruise in NC to a cocktail waitress on a rooftop bar in NYC)! I don't know if that is because it is pink or because it has an amazing zoom lens that you just don't expect to POP out of a little pink digital. I have been able to capture so much on this high-end advanced digital pink picture taker. Things I would never have caught with my old camera thanks to the super zoom. It also shoots video in HD which in our home when so many entertaining things are happening is a must. It also has a built in GPS technology which I have yet to use nor do I know how to use. I will get around to that manual one day.
