Atlanta Smiles

This morning we went to a very special book release event at Imagine It Children's Museum in Atlanta http://www.childrensmuseumatlanta.org/ ~ my good friend Angie Smith Patnode has written a beautiful children's book that highlights our fabulous city Atlanta. Atlanta Smiles is a picture book that tells about a little boy named James that shows his neighbor's granddaughter Addie all around Atlanta. http://www.bareader.com/store/Book/Atlanta-Smiles.html As you follow James and Addie's adventures you can't help but want to become an Atlanta Adventurer yourself! And that is just what we did today! The book comes complete with a checklist bookmark so that your children can check off the Atlanta things they have done right along with James and Addie. Not all the checklist items are big attraction ones, some are as easy as eating a peach (our state fruit) or listening to the song "Georgia on My Mind".

Grayson, Avalynn and I where lucky to be right in the heart of downtown today to begin our mini Atlanta Smiles Adventure. We went to the Georgia Aquarium to see the BRAND NEW Dolphin Tales show. http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/dolphin-tales/ It was very impressive. If you go be sure to make reservations for the show as it runs only twice a day. It is an additional cost to the regular aquarium admission but well worth it in my opinion. http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/

Then we headed to the Varsity the world's largest drive-in established in 1928. Also, featured in Atlanta Smiles is the What'll Ya Have? What'll Ya Have? attitude that can only be found at the Varsity's drive-in. Some of the car hop waiters have been working there 30+ yrs! We even shared our Atlanta Smiles book with our car hop Frank. He read some of the Varsity page to us right there in the parking lot! http://www.thevarsity.com/ After all this fun we were pooped and FULL after our F.O. (frozen orange) and onion rings, it was time to head home for naps.

We can't wait to do more fun adventures that the Atlanta Smiles book features! Next time maybe Zoo Atlanta or Fernbank or the King Center ~ there are so many choices! Get your copy of Atlanta Smiles today and become an Atlanta Adventurer like us! http://www.bareader.com/
